A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Product Manager for “engineering tools mechanical design” at Siemens Energy, you are taking charge of managing and structuring the mechanical design use case backlog for transformer products within the PRM organization. You will identify stakeholder needs and translate them into product and solution requirements, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals. In a global and distributed “Digital Solution Management” team, you will coordinate the mechanical design tool roadmap, collaborating with technical specialists to address complexity and implement solutions promptly. Your clear communication of status, issues, and successes will be vital as you contribute to the strategy of “connecting efficient factories,” improving Siemens Energy’s competitiveness.

- Technical leadership and effective communication abilities to support multi-functional development teams, driving goal achievement and maintaining focus on customer difficulties.
- Active collaboration with teams from various departments and international sites.
- Proficiency in data interpretation and problem-solving to make informed decisions and develop strategies for processes, tools, and IT systems.
- Role model for teams working within a scaled agile framework, promoting collaboration and innovation.
- Contribution to the Siemens Energy transformer business, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and sustainability as part of the “Digital Solution Management” team.
What You Bring
- A Master’s degree or equivalent education in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field, such as physics, electrical engineering, or software engineering, is preferred.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience and familiarity with associated tools and applications, such as CAD, PLM systems, NX and CREO.
- Proficient in mechanical engineering, with expertise in dimensioning, strength simulation, CAD modeling, and transformer manufacturing; holding a SAFe Product Manager certificate and proven experience could be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, conduct market research, and make informed decisions, along with proficiency in capturing relevant data for detailed analysis.
- Experience in planning to ensure product alignment with overarching business objectives, setting clear goals, understanding customer needs, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Excellent communication and listening skills in English are essential, along with a willingness to travel internationally for at least 30% of the time.
