A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Product Design Engineer you will be team member in the global product engineering team for compressors and hence responsible for order specific design execution of turbo compressor in consideration of customer specifications. Your workplace will be based in Lodz, Poland, in a global ambitious technical environment.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead projects with Product design drafting team and support vendor questions during manufacturing process.
  • Schedule and coordinate the scope of assigned projects that flow through your engineering team.
  • Attend kickoff meetings, monitor your projects hours and milestones.
  • First point of contact for most technical issues on assigned projects to.
  • Evaluate and address shop/vendors problems on deviations related to your engineering work.
  • Approve and organize engineering work, like 3D-models, drawings, bill of materials in Teamcenter and SAP.
  • Share your knowledge and insights with our engineering teams.
  • Assist in training/guidance of less experienced team members.
  • Participate in development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of design tools, product improvements, and standards associated with design, manufacturing, testing, and repair of turbomachinery products.
  • Collaborate with the sales solution development team in the development of commercial offerings, as required.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering and proven experience in design drafting (2D and 3D CAD), working with rotating machinery, e.g., centrifugal compressors, centrifugal pumps, axial compressors, hot gas expanders, auxiliary systems.
  • Experience in creating detailed manufacturing drawings using GD&T as per ASME Y 14.5.
  • Proficiency with PLM (preferably Teamcenter) and ERP system (preferably SAP).
  • High attention to detail and big picture problem solver, excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills, good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently on sophisticated projects, collaboratively and individually with the same passion and intensity.
  • Possess and demonstrate a high degree of tact and professionalism; and be capable of dealing with Management, Peers, Shop Personnel, Vendors, and Clients.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Active solution thinking and dedication for improvements on project details or regular work processes.
  • Open-mindedness and benevolence.
  • Fluent English and willingness to domestic/international travel.
