A Snapshot of Your Day

Join Siemens Energy in the UK as a Hydrogen Commissioning Engineer, where you’ll take ownership of commissioning Hydrogen-related products to the right specifications and safety standards. You’ll use your deep understanding of product functionality, commissioning procedures, and Hydrogen safety systems to keep work moving safely and efficiently. Working closely with internal and external Engineering teams, you’ll provide hands-on technical support to production—especially when commissioning activity is down. You’ll also help strengthen how we work by logging quality issues, driving corrective and preventative actions, and improving manufacturing processes through clear SOPs.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will commission Hydrogen-related products to required specifications, safety standards, and regulations for Hydrogen operations
  • You will manage permits to work for high-risk operations and support safe delivery through RAMS, permits, and incident/safety concern reporting
  • You will partner with internal and external Engineering teams to provide technical support to production leads and the wider production team
  • You will log quality issues, implement corrective and preventative actions, and promote a strong quality culture
  • You will drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, including developing and improving SOPs, and flex to cover ad hoc non-hydrogen commissioning within your capability

What You Bring

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in a relevant engineering environment
  • You bring previous, hands-on experience commissioning Hydrogen systems
  • You are experienced and proficient in electrical fault finding and diagnostics
  • You have a minimum HNC (preferably degree level) in an electrical discipline
  • You have strong communication and teamwork skills, and you’re ready to work flexibly in line with commissioning requirements

About the Team

You’ll report to the Operations Manager and work closely with Production Leads to keep commissioning and production support running smoothly. The role is highly connected—you’ll coordinate with other departments across the business to solve problems and keep work progressing safely. When needed, you’ll also interact with suppliers and customers to support commissioning activities and technical delivery. The team operates to current company procedures and policies, with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and safe execution. You’ll be part of an environment that values collaboration, respect, flexibility, and motivation to deliver shared goals. EHS is central to how the team works, with clear expectations around proactive safety management and compliance with relevant legislation.
