A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of Sales, the position is directly responsible for leading the regional strategy and team to secure a business impact of approximately €150 million. To achieve this objective, the role is structured around three core pillars: strategic sales and market leadership, sales team management and development, and key customer relationship management. This approach ensures a balanced focus on long-term regional growth, operational team effectiveness, and high-level commercial engagement. Given the focus on strategic leadership and multi-country oversight, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in sales management within the energy or a related technical industry. They must demonstrate a proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies, manage high-performing teams, and navigate complex commercial negotiations.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 40% Strategic Sales & Market Leadership
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and define strategic positioning.
    • Establish and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sub-region, providing regular reports to senior management.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the Grid Technologies portfolio across Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei to achieve OI targets.
  • 30% Team Management & Development
    • Lead, coach, and manage a team of experienced sales professionals across the three countries, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
    • Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and support the professional development of the sales team through training and mentorship.
    • Ensure effective coordination and collaboration within the sales team and with other internal functions like project management, engineering, and service.
    • Implement and enforce company policies and ethical standards within the sales organization.
  • 30% Customer Relationship & Business Development
    • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders at the executive level.
    • Lead negotiations for high-value contracts and strategic partnerships, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.
    • Oversee the development of major sales bids and proposals, ensuring they are high-quality and aligned with customer requirements.
    • Represent Siemens Energy at industry events, conferences, and customer forums to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in senior sales or business development roles, with a proven track record in the energy, grid technology, or a related industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading sales teams, preferably across multiple countries or a complex region.
  • Strategic & Financial Management (Strategic Thinking and finance/business acumen etc)
  • Leadership & Influence (Team Building, Influencing, Negotiation etc)
  • Sales Execution & Management (Prospecting, presentation, manage customer relations, etc)
