A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)
As the Head of Engineering Hub for Service of High Voltage Switchgears, your day begins reviewing ongoing service projects and address any new technical requests. You then spend time analyzing performance data from recent project activities, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Mid-morning, you join a conference call with a key customer to discuss a customized service solution for their high voltage switchgear system.
After lunch, you conduct a site visit to a local facility where our department is offering a modification or upgrade. In the afternoon, you meet with several internal departments (offer&order management, lifecycle management, procurement,etc) to discuss potential process optimizations to increase the efficiency of our organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering for our High Voltage Switchgears division, with a specialization in service. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring the highest standards of service, maintenance, and support for our high voltage switchgear products. This role requires a deep understanding of high voltage switchgear technology, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
- Lead and manage an engineering team responsible for technical clarification of requests for service and maintenance of high voltage switchgears.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and quality control of service projects/orders (engineering portion), ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Lifecycle management, procurement and customer support, to address technical issues and improve product performance.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored service solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
What You Bring (requirements)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in high voltage switchgear engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of high voltage switchgear design, operation, and maintenance.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and international stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations in the high voltage switchgear industry.
- Willingness to travel as required to support service operations and customer needs.
