A Snapshot of Your Day
As Global Commodity Manager you will develop and align a resilient Ecosystem strategy for mandated Siemens Energy commodities together with Regional Procurement, relevant stakeholders, and in line with global SE strategy and business objectives. Being part of the Indirect Materials team, you ensure the effective and optimal sourcing, leveraging supply market knowledge beyond Procurement perspectives to generate
value and impact.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Prepares and conducts supplier negotiations whilst using and complying with globally defined methods, processes and systems to achieve high efficiency and compliance (e.g. compliant Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, Procurement guidelines, IT systems)
- Manages, develops, and supports business stakeholders for successful commodity management, contract management, supplier relationship management, strategy development, and implementation
- Defines Commodity strategy, structure and organization with a specific focus on HR Services
- Develops a forward-looking commodity strategy to create additional value based on specific business needs in close alignment with business and regional Commodity Manager
- Utilizes an enhanced Commodity Circle network to ensure the implementation of strategies
- Prepares, negotiates, awards and make available global frame contracts & price lists for strategic suppliers in accordance with business and market requirements
- Owns the relationship with selected suppliers to meet SE demands and requirements
- Provides competitive advantage for the entire range of SE businesses through early procurement / supplier involvement and cost-out activities
- Identifies procurement risks and opportunities to avoid potential damage and exploit opportunities
- Conducts supply/supplier market analysis, supplier scouting, and consider in the Ecosystem strategy
- Feedback supplier market information and knowledge to stakeholders in SE through the network
- Ensures continuous improvement of Managed Spend and identified savings in the respective area of responsibility
What You Bring
- Bachelor's/Master’s/MBA degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, law or equivalent
- +5 years of work experience in the procurement area and a proven track record, ideally in a global organization
- Strong commercial and technical understanding and knowledge of procurement, project management, and international contract law
- Experience in functional leadership and project management is expected
- Minimum 2 years experience in leading multinational teams, incl. people development responsibilities
- Experience in leading multinational project teams
- Effective negotiation and conflict management skills
- Capable of working in multicultural teams and of communicating with senior stakeholders across the organization
- Fluent in English written and spoken, German is a plus
