A Snapshot of Your Day

Each day begins with safety checks and coordination with site leadership and EHS teams before starting maintenance activities. You inspect tools, manage logistics, and ensure permits and isolations are in place. On-site, you lead technicians, troubleshoot valve and auxiliary system issues, and support adjacent equipment work. Dependent on outage demands, you may perform specialist work focused on GT valve maintenance, or support field service activities on overall Gas Turbine overhaul activities. You document all activities, mentor team members, and adapt to shift work—including nights and weekends—while operating in demanding environments like power plants. Post-outage, you contribute to reviews and continuous improvement efforts, ensuring high standards in safety, quality, and performance.

How You'll Make an Impact:

In general, the Gas Turbine Valve Specialist will primarily implement or supervise tasks for the disassembly, inspection, reassembly and test of GT Valves. This will include valve function testing after reassembly using a simulator, ensuring reliable recommissioning

Valve Body Scope:

  • Supervise removal of valve combinations from pipeline.
  • Oversee or lead disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of valve internals
  • Ensure reassembly with new packing, seals, and other spare parts based on inspection results.
  • Verify pressure testing and leak-tightness prior to installation.

Actuator Scope (if included in project scope):

  • Supervise dismantling of actuator from valve body
  • Oversee inspection of actuator components
  • Ensure correct reassembly per OEM requirements.
  • Supervise pressure test, function check, and simulator verification of open/close positions.

There is potential for cross training to Steam Turbine Valve.

When we do not have maintenance work activities using your specialization for valve maintenance, you may be deployed as a GT technician for gas turbine overhaul activities covering the full power train.

What You Bring:

  • Technical qualification (minimum technical college certificate) and vocational training in industrial activities.
  • At least 4 years of experience with rotating equipment; Siemens Energy Gas and Steam Turbine experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills under pressure and in challenging environments; additional certifications (e.g., forklift, crane, scaffolding) are a plus.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken) for technical documentation, reporting, and communication with global teams.
  • Willingness to travel, work shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays), and operate independently with a valid driver’s license.
  • Must reside in South Korea, be legally permitted to work, and capable of working in construction/power plant environments.
