A Snapshot of Your Day

In this role, you will perform complex and technically demanding work on-site in a specialized area of Field Service for Generators of Gas Turbines. You will be responsible for effectively identifying problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is more difficult and complex and refer only complex unusual problems to others!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Performs complex, specialized tasks on generator equipment during planning, new installation, overhaul, repair or modification projects in accordance with our work procedures.
  • Completes technical reports of all installations, inspections, maintenance, repair work, and failures while managing tools, spare parts, and documentation within the project scope.
  • Talk to Siemens Energy specialists during complex service calls, partnering with customer personnel to ensure top-notch service delivery and provide feedback on technical issues related to maintenance, commissioning, risk assessments, root cause analysis, problem evaluation, and resolution.
  • Assess equipment condition and apply repair or improvement measures based on a standard catalog of corrective measures, including electrical testing of generator windings and stator and record findings from robotic inspections during maintenance activities.
  • Perform hands-on work on rotating machine core engine assembly/disassembly and auxiliary maintenance work.
  • Promote a zero-harm culture in both facilities and offices, including stopping work to ensure safe execution of outages.

What You Bring

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge of generator technology (synchronous and asynchronous) and operation.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing, testing (such as but no limited to AC/DC Hipot Test, Insulation test, ohmmeter, etc), and repair technologies for generators.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to take responsibility and handle technical questions independently.
  • Collaboration skills, and willingness to travel to internal and external assignments.

About the Team

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for Field Service Engineer to join our team. Working on site and at various operational locations throughout Peru, Latin America, and the entire world, the successful candidate will take a lead role in scheduled and breakdown maintenance of OEM Generators fleets. You will have the opportunity to work within one of the fastest growing areas of the Siemens Energy business. Perform daily field service, maintenance, and installation tasks independently, prioritizing customer contentment, quality, and safety.
