Your day involves commissioning, maintaining, and starting up instrumentation and control (I&C) equipment for gas and steam turbines as a Field Service Engineer – I&C at Siemens Energy. You ensure reliable operation and optimization of power plant control systems while supporting customers both on-site and remotely.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Commission I&C components such as automation processors, sensors, and drives for Gas & Steam Turbines.
• Perform interlock checks, optimize control circuits, and commission I&C systems according to logic diagrams.
• Implement software and hardware modifications or revisions for controls and instrumentation as per engineering guidelines.
• Calibrate and commission hydraulic control valves and inlet guide vanes for optimal performance.
• Optimize and tune power plant Distributed Control Systems (DCS), focusing on Gas & Steam Turbine control systems on-site.
• Provide technical support to customers during emergencies, including startups, operational issues, and troubleshooting, both on-site and remotely.

What You Bring

• Degree or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related automation technical field, with 3-5 years of field service experience in turbine controls for Gas and Steam Turbines.
• Practical expertise in Siemens control systems (e.g., SIMADYN, TXP/SPPA T2000, T3000, PCS7, S7/WinCC) and in-depth knowledge of turbine controls, protection relays, vibration monitoring systems, and overspeed protection systems.
• Strong understanding of automation systems, LAN architecture, and server components, coupled with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to address complex technical issues.
• Proven flexibility to work overtime, travel extensively, and adapt to diverse work environments and schedules.
• Strong communication skills in English, with additional language skills (e.g., German) considered a plus.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with advancements in technologies and industry standards.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
