A Snapshot of Your Day

During your workday, you collaborate in a HIL laboratory with the automation and electrical simulation team to adjust settings for a VSC-based converter system undergoing testing. Afterward, you meet with a client to discuss the capabilities of the VSC-based converter solution. Following lunch with colleagues, you work on the protection philosophy for an improved power supply design and conclude the day with a workshop with the R&D team focused on developing a new VSC-based power supply option.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • By supporting power supply development, project execution, and field service teams, this role offers a high level of responsibility, variety, visibility, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact.
  • Supporting the development/ integration of innovative, competitive and reliable solutions for VSC based power converters in MW-area under consideration of the interfaces to the other power supply components (transformer, busbar system) and the requirements of the electrolyzer systems
  • Provide expert support for our commissioning and service teams with regards to VSC-based power supply systems for electrolysis
  • Support Hardware-in-the-Loop testing activities with regards to VSC-based power supply systems
  • Provide expert support regarding the application of VSC-based converter systems in large electrolysis systems and plants
  • Adopt technology scouting for trends in converter technology to generate innovative ideas for future electrolysis plants
What You Bring
  • Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering, with focus on power engineering or power electronics
  • Long-standing experience in the field of VSC-based megawatt-scale converters (e.g., for PV, wind, BESS, and drives), including roles in commissioning, testing, product management, project execution, field service, product application, or similar
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the areas electrical power distribution, power electronics, and converter control
  • Wide knowledge of relevant global standards, regulations, and guidelines in the VSC converter domain
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. German is a plus.
  • Willingness and pleasure to develop joint innovative solutions in interdisciplinary teams as well as willingness to travel
