A Snapshot of Your Day
The Primary Design Engineer is responsible for delivering engineering design packages in line with manufacturing processes and standards, preparing technical drawings, and translating customer specifications into high-quality documentation. This role involves using 3D modeling software for design integration, conducting quality assurance checks for technical accuracy, and ensuring data consistency with the Bill of Materials in SAP. The engineer will also support factory assembly queries, verify project documentation, recommend design improvements, and collaborate with teams in Berlin and Erlangen to resolve technical issues while adhering to safety regulations and performing additional assigned responsibilities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Deliver primary engineering design packages in accordance with defined manufacturing processes, applicable standards, and specific technology requirements. Prepare and maintain technical primary design drawings, layouts
- Analyze customer and industrial technical specifications and translate requirements into high-quality engineering drawings and documentation. Design, check, and integrate primary layouts and component designs using 3D modelling software.
- Perform systematic double-checks based on predefined issue lists to ensure technical correctness of orders and design outputs.
- Cross-verify finalized orders across engineering tools and systems to ensure data consistency. Ensure that information in engineering drawings fully matches the Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP.
- Technical Coordination & Factory Support Support and technically review internal factory assembly queries, providing timely and accurate engineering feedback. Verify project documentation at various stages of execution to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow in the factory.
- Assist in recommending and implementing new designs, design improvements, and process changes to meet project-specific and overall business requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams in Berlin and Erlangen to align design solutions, resolve technical issues, and ensure consistent engineering standards.
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by the superior in accordance with professional skills, experience, and technical expertise.
- Take responsibility for the proper use and care of provided work equipment and personal protective equipment, in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Significant professional experience in high-voltage switchgear engineering, preferably within a tendering, design, or project engineering capacity.
- Proven experience working independently on complex engineering projects as expected at a senior professional level.
- Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to solving complex tasks.
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Analytical, structured, and goal-oriented way of working.
- Fluency in English, allowing for seamless communication in a global environment.
