Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Grab a coffee or tea and talk with a sales manager about the best way to design drives for an upcoming brownfield electrification project. Next, virtually check in with your team across the world to see if they have any questions on the projects they are working on. Follow up with compressor design to confirm speed-torque curves for a project in the Middle East. Finally, visit a local factory and see what else is happening within Siemens Energy!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Increase the profile for Siemens Energy as a leader in providing electrical solutions for motor driven compressors
- Lead client discussions for rotating equipment proposals in various project phases, while developing electrical scope during early positioning
- Technically manage multiple suppliers for transformer, E-House, switchgear, drive, and motor electrical drive systems and coordinate the integration of these components
- Propose optimization of compressor selection with respect to best electrical drive system solution
- Influence and mentor electrical engineers within the Siemens Energy Compression division
- Attend external conferences and promote Siemens Energy Compression electrical expertise
- Responsible for fulfilling on time all technical obligations committed by the company, including those sub-contracted to external suppliers related to electrical equipment and testing
- Generate and issue requests-for-quotations for electrical equipment based on project requirements and evaluate feedback from sub-suppliers
What You Bring
- Bachelors of Science Degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical systems: This includes experience in the areas of large electrical motors, variable speed drive systems and necessary auxiliary components, e.g., transformers, medium voltage switchgear, synchronizing and protection units.
- Market knowledge of rotating electrical machines and associated components (e.g. frequency converters, transformers, cooling systems)
- Experience in electric Motor design according to IEC60034, NEMA MG 1 and API 541/546. Understanding and applying Explosion Protection methods according to IEC 60079 and NFPA 70 NEC 500 / 505
- Skilled in conducting power system studies, including harmonic analysis and load flow simulations, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Experience in harmonics mitigation techniques in accordance with IEEE 519 standards.
- Proficient in analyzing power quality issues, implementing solutions such as active and passive filters, and optimizing system performance to reduce harmonic distortion.
- Experience in leading the technical discussion and personally designing solutions for integrating electrical drive systems for turbocompressors into client electrical infrastructure
- Extensive technological knowledge in the field of complex electrical drive systems acknowledged by colleagues and other external experts in the field
