A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Drafts Person in the maritime department, your day will involve crafting technical drawings in AutoCAD for the analysis and planning of vessel operations. You will work on important projects such as developing deck layouts and lift plans for various vessel types operating in the Service Business. You can expect a collaborative team culture where you will engage with colleagues across different functions, contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects. Your work will greatly improve our operations, helping us better meet customer needs and support Siemens Energy’s mission in renewable energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Your work will play a vital part in Vessel Mobilisation, and Demobilisation, where you will support the mobilization team by crafting crucial technical drawings in AutoCAD that facilitate the efficient deployment and retrieval of vessels. Additionally, you will be responsible for producing Jack Up Technical Drawings for Operations Support, including deck layouts and lift plans for port calls. Your contributions will ensure that operations run efficiently, improving safety and efficiency during critical phases of vessel operations.

  • Project Management: Oversee project activities, including defining project scope, planning timelines, managing risks and opportunities, and ensuring adherence to time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Technical Drawings for Jack Up Operations: Create detailed technical drawings, such as deck layouts and lift plans, specifically for Jack Up and SOV operations to support operational efficiency.
  • Vessel Mobilisation and Demobilisation Support: Provide accurate technical documentation to assist in the effective mobilization and demobilization of vessels, ensuring all operations are well-coordinated.
  • Concept Development Contribution: Assess the feasibility and risks of concept development projects by producing relevant technical drawings that inform decision-making.
  • Collaboration with Tendering Team: Work closely with the tendering team to generate technical drawings that aid in performance analysis and support successful bid submissions.
  • Feasibility Studies with Naval Architects: Collaborate with naval architects to conduct feasibility studies and performance analyses for various vessel types, ensuring that designs meet operational requirements.
  • Asset Preparation: Vessel Build/Conversion Management: Create technical drawings as required and support the Naval Architect during vessel build management projects, sea trials and mobilizations.

What You Bring

  • Passion for Renewable Energy: A strong commitment to renewable energy and a desire to lead change in the industry.
  • Educational Background: A technical design degree or equivalent experience required, as well as proficiency in using AutoCAD.
  • Offshore Operations Experience: Familiarity with offshore operations, particularly with vessels in the offshore wind sector, including experience with heavy lift vessels and major component exchanges.
  • Draftsperson Experience: Demonstrated experience in a draftsperson role, showcasing the ability to build detailed technical drawings.

Software Proficiency:

  • AutoCAD: Required
  • Microsoft Office 365: Required
  • Teamcenter: Preferred
  • Siemens NX: Preferred
  • 3D CAD Software (e.g., Inventor): Preferred
  • Deck Layout Drawings: Experience in crafting deck layout drawings for Jack Up operations.
  • Understanding of Offshore Wind Vessels: Knowledge of various vessel types used in offshore wind operations.
  • Wind Turbine Knowledge: Familiarity with wind turbines and the processes involved in major component exchanges.
  • Rigging and Lifting Equipment: Experience and knowledge of rigging and lifting equipment used in offshore wind major component exchanges.
