A Snapshot of Your Day 

In this position, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on the development and adaptation of gas-insulated high voltage switchgear. Your work contributes to the reliability, safety, and sustainability of our products, which are used worldwide in high and extra-high voltage networks. You will develop innovative insulation solutions and guide them from concept to series production. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, you will shape the entire development process, including conducting tests and handing over the final product to manufacturing.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Collaborate on the development of future generations of high voltage switchgear within an international agile team.
  • Design and layout of insulated components for high voltage applications (e.g., support insulators, housing parts).
  • Develop components considering electrical field control, mechanical strength, and thermal requirements.
  • Select and evaluate suitable insulating materials (thermosets, thermoplastics, epoxy resins, silicones, ceramics).
  • Create 3D models, drawings, and bill of materials, as well as conduct tolerance analyses.
  • Technical coordination with simulation, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and suppliers.
What You Bring
  • Completed degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, plastics technology, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience in the design of insulated components or high voltage components is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of materials science related to insulating materials.
  • Basic understanding of high voltage technology (electric fields, partial discharges, standards) as well as proficient in 3D CAD systems (e.g., NX, Creo, SolidWorks, Catia).
  • Team-oriented and strong communication skills in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (fluent) and German (good) as well as willingness to travel from time to time.
