A Snapshot of Your Day 

 

You will be a Data Engineer & Data Analyst supporting the Process Digitalization Team for Grid Technologies within our Siemens Energy organization. As part of respective initiatives, you are in direct contact with our factories (30+) within the Manufacturing Network and pioneer the centrally governed, secure and AI-enabled Factory Data Cloud (Data Mesh) to foster unified, consolidated and scalable data. You will be responsible for implementing such structures to offer and transfer them to the organization as foundation for state-of-the-art data-driven decision making and sustainable growth. As a successful candidate you will demonstrate the ability to proactively drive complex, cross-functional and strategic data & analytics initiatives with passion that impacts our future competitiveness and product portfolio on the market.

 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Responsibility for the design, rollout and maintenance of the Factory Data Cloud (Data Mesh), especially regarding the data ingestions from different sources as well as the definition and alignment of data structures resp. products, focusing on data unification, data-driven automation and digitalization of an international manufacturing network.
  • Comprehensive analyses regarding data and processes including respective requirements (related to before mentioned) together with the Head of Data, Models & Analytics and the Data Domain Manager Manufacturing.
  • Specific and hands-on implementation support regarding data cloud architectures and respective demands for data to be ingested.
  • Proactive and overall contribution to the continuous optimization of data, value and process chains within the Business Area to become a data-driven, transparent, agile and efficient organization.


What You Bring
  • Successfully passed study in Computer Science, Data and Process Management or similar courses of studies.
  • Professional experience in the world of data warehousing and cloud architecture, preferably by means of hands-on Snowflake and AWS experience (e.g. components, efficient queries, DBT transformations, KPI modeling, Lambda, S3, Step Functions, API Gateway, EC2, Security), in combination with profound knowledge regarding data ingestions from various data sources (incl. event-driven and API-based data ingestion) and subsequent data analyses.
  • High affinity for data, processes and IT structures as well as strong logical reasoning.
  • Preferred data stack knowledge: Snowflake, DBT, Python, REST APIs, AWS, ELT tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge about one or more coding languages (especially strong Python skills for ETL pipelines and automation).
  • Comprehensive experience in the field of production would be beneficial.
  • Business fluent in English (orally and in writing). German (basic understanding). Portuguese, Chinese and/or Indian language would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, personality, persuasiveness, and proactivity.
  • Readiness to travel globally to visit factories and to organize workshops within a large, complex, and global network of factories.
