Controls Engineer
Controls Engineer Job Description External Job Description How You’ll Make an Impact The specific responsibilities assigned to the position (but not limited to) are: Responsible for the control systems technical scope for rotating equipment packages. Incorporates Siemens Energy design standards and guidelines and adapts the assigned scope to meet project-specific requirements due to Customer Specifications and Regional / Statutory Requirements for the Installation location. Represents the assigned systems in HAZOP and SIL studies. Responsible for timely delivery of package design documents to partners and within budget. Provides occasional support to the Front-End Engineering network, by reviewing and providing comments and exceptions to client specifications, identifying deviations from standards, and estimating commercial impacts if compliance is required. Provide technical support to internal and external packagers. What You Bring B.S. in an engineering related field required and 8+ years of control system related industry experience. Familiarity with control system philosophies and detailed control system design and experience with design of gas turbine generator trains, gas turbine compression trains, or electric motor compression trains (preferred). Experience with gas turbine functional safety design and implementation (preferred). Detailed knowledge of the IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 functional safety standards. Experience with IEC 62443 and the implementation of electronically secure control systems (preferred). Experience with ISO 21789 gas turbine safety standard (preferred). Experience with Engineering/PLM software (such as Teamcenter and/or Jira), Control Systems Programming software (such as PCS7 and Allen-Bradley control systems), and experience with SAP (preferred).
