Job title: Ceramic Core Process Engineer: Firing

A Snapshot of Your Day

Develops and continuously improves core firing manufacturing processes. Develops and maintains feedback loops from visual and dimensional inspection. Troubleshoots process problems and provides technical support to manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery of conforming core products to downstream processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Uses process knowledge, basic engineering principles, previous experience, and creativity as necessary to develop processes that result in the production of injected cores that meet customer specifications
• Reviews customer specifications and develops processes and documentation to achieve them
• Establishes and maintains statistical process control in assigned areas
• Monitors yield and throughput in assigned areas
• Collaborates with appropriate teams to implement improvements (efficiency, safety, yield)
• Collaborates with the training team to develop efficient and effective training content
• Provides direction to appropriate teams for tooling improvements

What You Bring

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or another related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ceramics processing
• Experience in thermal processing techniques specific to ceramic cores preferred but not required
• Six Sigma training preferred (Green or Black Belt)
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
