A Snapshot of Your Day

This position is being created to add critical Bid Management resources to the Asia Pacific team, directly supporting the business objective of capitalizing on the booming FPSO market. As a Specialist in the Bid Management Single Shaft Compressors unit, this role is essential for achieving the strategic goal of securing two major project wins per year and supporting other regional markets. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around three core areas: Bid Strategy & Proposal Development, Commercial & Contract Management, and Stakeholder & Process Leadership. This framework ensures a comprehensive approach to managing the entire bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity analysis and strategic planning through to proposal submission, negotiation, and handover. Given the focus on complex, high-value projects, the ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with extensive experience in bid management for large industrial or energy projects. This individual must possess advanced skills in commercial strategy, contract negotiation, and program management, supported by a proven track record of winning competitive tenders in a global environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

50% Bid Strategy & Proposal Development

  • Lead the development of comprehensive bid strategies for FPSO and other regional projects, aligning with business objectives and win-themes.
  • Manage the end-to-end proposal creation process, coordinating input from sales, engineering, legal, and finance to produce high-quality, compliant, and compelling bids.
  • Analyze tender requirements (RFQs/RFPs) to identify key commercial, technical, and execution risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and articulate clear value propositions and pricing strategies for each bid to maximize competitiveness.

30% Commercial & Contract Management

  • Structure and negotiate contracts with external customers and EPCs, ensuring terms are consistent with business objectives and risk policies.
  • Manage contract amendments and renegotiations to accommodate scope changes during the bid and post-award phases.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis, budgeting, and financial modeling for proposals to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations and manage communication with all contracting parties throughout the bid process.

20% Stakeholder Management & Process Leadership

  • Excellent time management and able to work under pressure
  • Act as the central point of contact for all bid-related activities, facilitating clear communication between internal teams, partners, and external clients.
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals to enhance team capacity and support their development.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of bid management processes, tools, and best practices to increase efficiency and win rates.
  • Prepare and present bid status reports, risk assessments, and approval documentation to senior management

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in bid management, proposal development, or contract management, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing and winning large-scale, complex bids, particularly for FPSO or similar projects.
  • Skills: Bid & Proposal Management, Project & Commercial Management, Business & Analytical Acumen
