If you are an expert application engineer, a professional passionate about inspiring change, and wouldn't like to have a day like the other, this role is made for you! You will be responsible for providing technical expertise to the Digital Grid IoT & Edge organization, understanding customer and market requirements, and translating those internally. You will technically support designing, crafting, and commercializing customer-focused digital products and solutions to make a real impact in the energy market and the energy transformation. How You’ll Make an Impact

• As an application engineer, you will evaluate and interpret customer’s technical specifications and implement technical definitions of solutions for specific projects
• Providing technical support to Sales, Offer Management, Execution, Portfolio Management, and Development teams regarding domain expertise and translating technical market requirements
• You will complete electrical automation panel schematics
• You will support or lead, remotely or on-site the installation, commissioning, and testing of solutions and products.
• You will lead or support technical benchmarking evaluations and provide insights to support portfolio management & development teams

What You Bring

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Completed degree in automation, electrical, or mechanical engineering or comparable education
• Experience with automation and PLCs
• Experience with communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3.0, and IEC61850
• Experience with NERC-CIP (desirable)
• You are thrilled by new technologies and business models, you have a profound understanding of both the energy industry and digitalization and you keep an eye on the latest developments in this space
• Entrepreneurial thinking and business-driven, with a clear understanding of how to craft profitable products and business
• Strong drive and understanding of digital technology as well as a customer-centric mentality.
• You have extensive international experience working abroad and with different cultures and can connect with international team members and customers in proficient business English (required)
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
