A Snapshot of Your Day

The data center account manager is Siemens Energy’s sales “face” to major technology companies, including industry players like Microsoft, Meta, AWS and Google! You will be responsible to develop solutions to customer needs using the entire portfolio of Siemens Energy offerings and technologies. You possess excellent communications skills and have the ability to engage with customer staff from procurement professionals to project managers up to and including C-suite executives. You can develop sales strategies that provide win-win opportunities to customers and Siemens Energy. Your familiarity with the rapidly expanding data center market, including knowledge of artificial intelligence platforms, allows you to better understand customer needs and how Siemens Energy’s unique end-to-end energy production and delivery products can give customers advantages in developing their projects. This is a remote position, and candidate must be located in San Francisco or Seattle.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Meet assigned sales targets set by management.
  • Develop relationships with key contacts at all levels within data center companies to drive sales for Siemens Energy.
  • Combine Siemens Energy’s current and future product offerings with customer needs to build tailored solutions.
  • Develop and present project approvals for sales opportunities to Siemens Energy business unit management.
  • Collaborate with customers to conceptualize scenarios that align with their sustainability and cost goals, delivering clear presentations to C-level executives.
  • Represent Siemens Energy across all business areas in the US and Canada, generating high-quality, qualified sales opportunities.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred, with confirmed sales and account management experience.
  • 2+ years experience, candidates with more experience will be eligible for a higher level.
  • In-depth understanding of the US and Canadian data center markets, including major players (AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft) and co-locators (Equinix, QTS, CloudHQ, Switch, etc.).
  • Familiarity with energy procurement and delivery, cooling technology, and data center development, with experience in creating business cases for improved customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop account management plans and engage key stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficient in analyzing publicly available information to understand customer goals related to expansion, technology implementation, ESG, and decarbonization.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

This role will be based in San Francisco, California or Seattle, Washington. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits, including paid time off and holiday pay. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $85,800to $266,900 annually, and the annual incentive target is from 10% to 20% of the base salary.

 

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
