A Snapshot of Your Day 

Join our dynamic team as a Solution Consultant for Energy Systems, where you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing consulting projects focused on energy system design. Your expertise will help shape innovative solutions for our customers, optimizing their projects to meet techno-economic and sustainability goals using advanced mathematical optimization tools. Your daily duties will include engaging and consulting with customers worldwide, presenting our energy system design capabilities, and generating business opportunities for Siemens Energy. You will also support internal departments and working groups by providing our optimization capabilities for internal analyses.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Conduct comprehensive techno-economic optimization studies of energy systems for both external and internal customers worldwide, working within an international environment.
  • Engage with customers to conceptualize and develop scenarios that align with their current situations and future sustainability and cost objectives.
  • Model and optimize energy systems by selecting and sizing appropriate technologies, such as wind turbines, solar PV, electrolyzers, chemical synthesis processes, battery systems, heat pumps, gas and steam turbines, and compressors, to enhance business outcomes.
  • Create sustainable and cost-effective solutions tailored to customer needs, and present complex results to executives in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Develop high-quality sales opportunities across various client verticals, including renewable developers, private equity, public power, utilities, independent power producers, and industrial process customers
  • Ensure the quality of Energy System Design (ESD) studies by maintaining high-quality standards and continuously developing methodologies and approaches.
What You Bring
  • University degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering is required; PhD with a connection to mathematical optimization is considered an advantage and must be proficient in English and German with strong business communication skills; additional languages are an asset
  • Proficiency in mathematical optimization and experience in using tools for energy system modeling, simulation, and techno-economic optimization
  • Experience in assessing the yield from renewable energy sources, equipment reliability/availability, time series aggregation methods, and assessing the impact of macroeconomic trends on business cases
  • Expertise in energy system related key topics such as hydrogen, renewable power generation, and CO2 emission reduction measures and the corresponding technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer business models for H2 and power-to-X is beneficial
  • Structured but pragmatic and agile way of working driven by customer needs as well as ability to present and discuss complex system aspects with customers

Our Transformation of Industry division is decarbonizing the industrial sector. Increasing electrification and efficiency are key and demand for green H2 and derivative fuels will rise. We enable decarbonization of the industrial sector and the transition to sustainable processes, building on a strong industrial customer base, a global network, diverse technologies, and integrated execution capabilities.
Solution Development (TI SES S SD) is an innovative and creative solution center, generating customer value and competitive edge based on SES and SE portfolio, in the field of Power-to-X and Hybrid-Solutions, with a team of project development managers together with experts in Energy System Optimization and Process Design. SD interacts with all other business areas within Siemens Energy on a project basis.
