A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Master’s Thesis Student to join the Primary Electric Team at Siemens Energy and actively contribute to the energy transition. The role offers insights into diverse areas and processes of hydrogen electrolysis while supporting our efforts to maintain a leading position in this rapidly growing sector. Together, we aim to shape the future of the green hydrogen economy.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Conducting 3D FEM simulations for the analysis of power electronic converters from component to system level, considering typical electrolysis requirements
  • Consideration of electrical, thermal, magnetic, acoustic, and other influencing factors on the converter system
  • Analysis of FEM results and definition of (reduced‑order) models for subsequent circuit simulations
  • Presentation and visualization of data using MATLAB, Python, and PowerPoint
  • Collaboration on design optimizations for hydrogen electrolysis plants
  • Documentation of work progress and findings
What You Bring
  • Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Physics, or related fields
  • Strong theoretical understanding of power electronic converters
  • Practical experience in power electronics or FEM simulations through academic projects, thesis work, lectures, or professional experience
  • High motivation to work on cutting-edge power electronics technologies and willingness to learn new subject areas
  • Independent and self‑motivated working style within a dynamic environment, combined with commitment to personal development and continuous improvement
  • Excellent English language skills; German language skills considered an advantage
