A Snapshot of Your Day


The Project Development Manager will lead the overall sales development process for Gimpel Mods & Ups Projects. Responsible for opportunity discovery & qualification; strategy setting & development; identifying and influencing key decision makers; and successfully navigating complex internal & external selling environments.


How You’ll Make an Impact


  • Develop a compelling value proposition to drive company growth and profitability, while exercising strong business acumen.
  • Develop technical knowledge of all Gimpel models and applications, establishing yourself as SME (Subject Matter Expert) with Siemens Energy Client Managers, Engineering Firms, and End Users.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through active onsite visits and engagement, sharing customer insights within Siemens Energy (SE).
  • Achieve SE’s sales, bookings, and earnings goals, aligning with customer needs and representing their requirements effectively.
  • Govern expenses within SE corporate policies, stay informed on market and competitive trends, and support industry tradeshows worldwide.

What You Bring


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/business or equivalent experience, with a preference for knowledge of Siemens Energy’s Industrial Steam Turbine models.
  • 8+ years of experience in rotating equipment sales or capital project business development. Those with more years of experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (50%) within the designated territory, including international trips.
  • Exhibits critical thinking with in-depth knowledge of industrial steam turbines, including product, service, market insights, and a solid grasp of steam turbine performance and applications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across various organizational and international boundaries.
  • Highly self-motivated with a Consultative Sales approach, focused on long-term fleet growth and technology upgrades, and has a basic to skilled understanding of Distributed Control Systems, Safety Instrumented Systems, Safety Integrity Level, with preferred experience in engineered valve sales.

The base salary range for this position varies by location. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $100,000 - $253,500, and the annual incentive target could be 30% of base salary. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
