A Snapshot of Your Day

In a future with more renewable energy, gas turbines will play a crucial role in providing flexible and reliable power, as evidenced by the rapidly growing market for them. Therefore, we are seeking a new member for our gas turbine performance team!

As a performance engineer at Siemens Energy, you will have diverse responsibilities, from enhancing our calculation and modeling capabilities to analyzing performance data. You will engage in prototype testing and fleet data analysis, making your contributions vital to our sales success and competitiveness. Your expertise will also be key in diagnosing and resolving failures.

This role blends R&D tasks with customer-focused project delivery. R&D work may involve developing new calculation methods, components, or products, while customer engagement often includes sales support and performance-related order delivery. As part of the performance team, you will collaborate on strategies and contribute to our collective success.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Performance analysis and modelling
  • Supporting sales and order execution to ensure competitiveness and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in RCAs to find underlaying reasons for gas turbine failures or issues
  • Be part of R&D projects to create new technical solutions, new products and new cycles
  • Further improve our performance monitoring methods on a fleet level for follow-up, customer value and keeping a tight loop towards other fields within R&D
  • Develop new methods to thermodynamically model gas turbine components and systems

What You Bring

  • Master of Science or equivalent experience within engineering
  • High level of knowledge within the area of thermodynamics. Previous work experience in the area of gas turbine performance is highly valued.
  • Profound English skill, both verbally and written.
  • As a person, you take pride in doing your work well and bringing a positive attitude.
  • A great teammate, supporting your team and sharing knowledge. You value your colleagues and their contribution.

  • You have an interest for getting a broad network of contacts and working with people from many different fields and backgrounds.

About the Team

You will be a part of the MGT (Medium Gas Turbines) Performance department, and we are responsible for analysis and modelling of steady-state and transient performance of the MGT products. We are also the competence center for studies of new thermodynamic cycles.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.

We can offer you employment benefits such as: reduction of working hours, advance vacation, health care allowance and an eventual possibility to a flexible working place.
