As a Solution Developer, you are a real pro when it comes to thinking outside the box. You will be part of the mission towards clean and CO2-neutral power generation and will help to further develop our Internet of Energy business, which is of strategic importance for Siemens Energy to become a leading digital company. With your knowledge and your passion for modern system architectures, you will make a significant contribution to the transformation of classic system design into a flexible and modern architecture.

How you'll make an impact:

• Design, develop, test and validate software applications based on specifications or new concepts

• Human Machine Interface (HMI) software design, development and troubleshooting

• Design and implement custom dashboard visualizations and time-series based analytical solutions.

• Definition of communication concepts between the different layers of a modern plant control system (IT and OT; SCADA; IoT)

• Design of data communication models e.g. IEC61850, Sunspec Alliance, CIM

• Lay out of data storage and exchange within plant control system

• Technical writing including software documentation (i.e., Test Plan, Operating Manual with Troubleshooting Guide)

• Work with UX Designers in the creation of new HMI Objects for specific functions

• Evaluation of on-the-market solutions and its integration into our own platform

• Identify and evaluate synergies with other products and solutions (markets, verticals, technologies, etc.) in coordination and alignment to continuously reduce costs and optimize products and solutions

What you bring:

• Degree in Engineering and / or Information Computer Technology or equivalent

• Strong background in IT system architecture including communication protocols, visualization, data bases, network topologies, controls.

• Background knowledge in automation preferred

• Understanding of agile development -e.g., SCRUM techniques (user stories, sprints, etc.)

• Strong background in communication protocols in OT level e.g. MODBUS TCP, Ethercat, Profinet, OPC UA as well as in IT Level e.g. MQTT, web services

• Experience in secure communication concepts e.g. https, encrypted communication, certificates, IEC62443

• Relevant experience with SCADA systems such as WINCC OA, Ignition SCADA, COPA-DATA

• Strong background in working with different data bases e.g. SQL, influx DB, Mongo-DB, MySQL

• Strong background on modern programming languages like Structured Text, Python, C++

• Used to work with modern HMI technology like CSS, HTML5

• Fluent business English

• Being a team player, who likes to work in international teams and manufacturing locations, partners, suppliers

• Willing to travel to our locations globally (< 20%)
