A Snapshot of Your Day

This position is an addition to the Test Field team in Queretaro, Mexico, to support business continuity in switchgear manufacturing. As a Senior Professional (P3) in Quality Control Engineering, this role is critical for ensuring that all manufactured power circuit breakers meet stringent quality and safety standards before shipment. To achieve this, the role is structured around three core areas: hands-on test execution and diagnostics, quality assurance and process management, and comprehensive reporting and stakeholder collaboration. This focus ensures both the validation of individual products and the continuous improvement of testing protocols and equipment within the Test Field. Given the focus on advanced electrical testing and process oversight, the ideal candidate will possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and significant experience in the electrical sector. Key requirements include proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, operating specialized test equipment, and a demonstrated ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 50% Test Execution and Diagnostics
    • Execute and evaluate routine and acceptance tests on electrical power circuit breakers, including SF6 insulated equipment.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex operational issues on circuit breakers to identify root causes and ensure proper functionality.
    • Operate and manage specialized electrical measurement equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, and microhmmeters during testing procedures.
    • Ensure all testing activities adhere to established standards for quality, cost, safety, and performance.
  • 30% Quality Assurance and Process Management
    • Interpret technical plans, electrical drawings, and engineering specifications to define test parameters and procedures.
    • Develop, implement, and refine testing methods and equipment to ensure products conform to quality standards and protocols.
    • Identify and propose changes to testing equipment, procedures, and manufacturing processes to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
    • Coach and review the work of junior team members, providing guidance on complex testing challenges.
  • 20% Reporting and Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Create and compile detailed finished product reports and test data for internal records and customer validation.
    • Lead the formal release of equipment during acceptance tests involving external parties such as LAPEM, third-party inspectors, or end customers.
    • Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to coordinate test schedules and ensure timely product delivery.

What you Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in quality control, testing, or manufacturing engineering, preferably within the electrical power or heavy industrial sector.
