Grid Technologies
El aumento de la cuota de renovables, la creciente demanda de energía, el envejecimiento de las infraestructuras y la creciente complejidad exigen nuevas conexiones, pero también la mejora y renovación de las redes existentes.
Sobre el papel
Join us as a Design Lead for Auxiliary Systems, where you will play a key role in shaping the electrical design scope for our substations in offshore wind, onshore AC, and HVDC projects. You will be involved across the entire project lifecycle, from the bidding phase through execution and warranty, ensuring that our auxiliary systems meet the highest standards. Working closely with a diverse team across engineering disciplines and project management, you will define Low Voltage single line diagrams, execute design studies, and guide the selection of suppliers and alignment of civil design inputs — making a real impact on our projects and the energy transition.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and manage the substation design scope for auxiliary systems across offshore wind, onshore AC, and HVDC projects — from bidding through execution, warranty, and project handover
- Define and develop the overall Low Voltage single line diagram for both AC and DC substations.
- Ensure that comprehensive design studies are conducted using advanced tools to verify system integrity.
- Select and collaborate with suitable suppliers for Auxiliary equipment within Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and emergency systems.
- Align civil design inputs with civil partners and develop concepts with strategic suppliers
- Provide technical input and support to the procurement team
- Work proactively in close cooperation with project managers, specialists, and colleagues across engineering disciplines
What You Bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering combined with over 5 years of experience in designing electrical auxiliary systems.
- Knowledge of subsystems in substations, including Air Insulated Switchgear, Gas Insulated Switchgear, and auxiliary systems.
- Strong understanding of design flow and interfaces between subsystems, with the ability to break down design work for effective planning.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English. Danish is considered an advantage.
- Proven leadership and supplier management skills, demonstrating your ability to guide teams and projects successfully.
About the Team
You will join the Engineering department at Substation Denmark, based in Ballerup. The engineering group covers all disciplines needed to design and deliver a substation — primary engineering, secondary engineering, installation and commissioning, and technical project management, a team of around 60 people in total, including consultants and engineering resources in India. Within that group, you will work most closely with a sub-team of around 10 people. You will be paired with our existing senior auxiliary systems expert, supporting each other and reviewing each other's work.
The role involves some travel, approximately 2–3 days per month internationally for factory visits and design meetings, plus site visits within Denmark as projects require.
Our Grid Technology division enables a reliable, sustainable, and digital grid. The power grid is the backbone of the energy transition. Siemens Energy offers a leading portfolio and solutions in HVDC transmission, grid stabilization and storage, high voltage switchgears and transformers, and digital grid technology.
We can offer you employment benefits such as: reduction of working hours, advance vacation, health care allowance and an eventual possibility to a flexible working place.
