This role will be based at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Manufacturing Center Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The facility is planned to be built by early 2027 for production commencement. Consequently, the first part of the journey in this role in our company will involve overseeing the construction of the factory and the implementation of new processes, as well as managing the development of a high-performance team and coordinating all aspects of the factory set-up to prepare for production

A Snapshot of Your Day

Based at the Siemens Energy Power Transformer facility in Charlotte, NC, this hybrid position supports the expanding Power Transformers business in the United States. The role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams, as well as procurement organizations across the Americas and Global Commodity Managers, to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence.

You will support the development of commodity strategies for our greenfield power transformer factory, lead sourcing initiatives to drive Total Cost Reduction, and help ensure a resilient and reliable supply chain. Your responsibilities include evaluating and engaging suppliers, ensuring adherence to procurement processes, and conducting site visits when required.

How You’ll make an Impact

  • Contributes to the implementation and effective utilization of globally defined procurement methods, processes, and systems to ensure high process efficiency and compliance with corporate standards, including the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, Procurement guidelines, and IT systems. Leads and supports supplier negotiations to achieve optimal commercial outcomes and maximize cost savings.
  • Develops and drives the implementation of material strategies for key materials, including copper, surge arresters, connectors, cooling systems, and fiberglass. Establish strategic roadmaps and action plans aligned with overall business objectives to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and long-term value creation.
  • Collaborates closely with suppliers to meet operational and customer requirements, ensuring effective communication, proactive issue resolution, and timely escalation of risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Executes supplier prequalification, strategic assessments, risk evaluations, and supplier development activities through SAP Ariba, supporting supplier performance improvement and compliance with organizational requirements.
  • Prepares and maintains contract agreements and negotiation reports in accordance with established governance standards and approved corporate requirements.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working collaboratively with Procurement teams across the United States, Mexico, and Brazil, as well as Global Commodity Managers, to support regional and global sourcing, supplier development, and procurement strategy initiatives

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 4+ years of procurement experience; experience in the energy industry and/or power transformer manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading strategic sourcing and category management for power and medium-voltage transformer components, including copper, surge arresters, connectors, cooling systems, fiberglass, and other critical materials.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing supplier and commodity strategies, including supplier development, risk mitigation, supply continuity, cost reduction, and total cost optimization initiatives.
  • Experience managing the end-to-end sourcing process, including RFQs, supplier selection, supplier qualification, and onboarding of new suppliers in accordance with approved supplier requirements.
  • Advanced negotiation experience utilizing strategic sourcing methodologies such as e-Auctions, spend pooling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and supplier performance management to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise systems; experience with SAP, Tableau, Power BI, and procurement analytics tools preferred. Experience supporting supplier compliance, audits, and continuous process improvement is a plus.
