A Snapshot of Your Day
We currently have an opportunity for a Service Engineer to join our team based in Sydney. The Service Engineer is responsible for design, engineering, commissioning, service & maintenance of Control and other Siemens automation systems. The role also requires sales and tendering support and project management skills with demonstrated team leadership experience, offering excellent career progression opportunities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Perform service tasks such as installation, commissioning, upgrades, and routine maintenance independently and being able to identify & resolve technical problems and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity.
• Design, develop, factory acceptance testing and onsite commissioning of hardware and software solutions using Ominivse T3000, PCS7, S7/WinCC and other Siemens’ automation platforms.
• Implementation of modifications/revisions related to controls and instrumentation from engineering (software/hardware changes)
• Troubleshooting activities on site or via remote services to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution and implement corrective actions
• Resolving technical issues, foster knowledge sharing and help others
• Network and system architecture design and administration
• Leading and working in project delivery teams
• Provide technical recommendations and decisions to Siemens Energy and to customers based on clear understanding of the customers' business and operational environment
• Ensure open, regular and effective communication with all collaborators
• You shall have the flexibility to work overtime based on workload and work both independently and within a team environment with the ability to lead the team
• Contributes to customer satisfaction by performing Service work according to customer order and expectation
• Proactively promote innovation, improvements, risk identification and safety management
• Work under the company quality management system and take responsibility for HS&E
What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics or controls engineering or equivalent.
• At least 4 years professional experience in controls and digitalization systems design, engineering, service or maintenance.
• Knowledge and experience on power generation control systems (Omnivise T3000, PCS7 or WinCC will be added advantage)
• Full working rights in Australia and the ability to travel for the execution of site based projects
• Experience with Functional Safety of Control Systems IEC 61508 or IEC 61511 would be an advantage
• Excellent technical writing skills with focus on design document, inspection and test plans and commissioning reports.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific
