A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our dynamic Grid Solutions team as a Senior Substation Design and engineering Specialist. You will be in the lead in the conceptual phase of the projects - designing and integrating high-voltage substations for both onshore and offshore applications. You will drive the system design and use your expertise to guide the substation design to ensure compliance with industry standards.

You'll engage with a diverse group of team members, from factory specialists to project managers, as you contribute to technical risk assessments and design reviews. Imagine being at the forefront of energy infrastructure innovation, shaping the future of sustainable power solutions.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the design of high-voltage substations (72.5kV–420kV), including AIS and GIS configurations, for both onshore and offshore projects.
  • Drive system design activities, developing single-line diagrams, protection and control philosophies, and interface definitions.
  • Conduct and review system studies to ensure alignment with EN/IEC standards, grid codes, and client-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including factory specialists and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Support technical risk assessments, design reviews, and interface coordination across disciplines.

 

What You Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 15 years of experience in substation design, including offshore substations and system design.
  • Strong understanding of HV equipment and system behavior under normal and fault conditions, especially with Power Transformers, Reactors, and Earthing Auxiliary Transformers.
  • Experience with offshore wind integration and grid code compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
