A Snapshot of Your Day

The Commercial Project Manager works with an energetic team to review projects from a financial perspective regarding budgets, actual costs, open Purchase Orders, forecasts, invoicing customer and reviewing impacts to the income statement and balance sheet for Grid Technologies Solutions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Work in collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure accurate project costs and pricing according to defined guidelines, while establishing and maintaining the financial framework for projects based on contractual agreements during the ongoing execution phase.
  • Take responsibility for project financials, including monthly revenue recognition in compliance with defined guidelines, managing cash flow/payment plans, and ensuring timely generation of customer invoices.
  • Review and update forecasts, delivery dates, and commitments with Project Management and Logistics teams, while performing financial planning and assessing risks and opportunities for financial impact to mitigate risk and optimize profit margins.
  • Hold full responsibility for all finance-related project topics, including but not limited to Accounting, Legal, Tax, Foreign Exchange, and NCM, and prepare and present project financial aspects during Project Reviews.
  • Engage in direct customer interaction for contractual topics and/or change order negotiations, and support special assignments as required, including interaction with external auditors for audit topics.
  • Maintain strong governance through accurate documentation and communication of financial status throughout project execution, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines, contractual obligations, and stakeholder expectations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Business Administration/ Accounting is required.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in Business Administration or in Finance, preferably with experience in Commercial Project Management; Candidates with more years of experience may be eligible for a higher-level position.
  • Excellent understanding of commercial and financial principles, including contract management, risk assessment, and profitability analysis, with required knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting; strong skills with Microsoft Office applications are required and SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach in search of solutions, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task while working with due dates.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
