The responsibility of this position applies to one or more of Siemens Energy Transmission Products & Systems. The primary responsibility of a Senior Proposal/Bid Engineer is to develop Proposals (with costing) for Siemens Energy customer/client base encompassing the following

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Review Client’s RFQ, perform equipment selections including substation transmission systems using company or applicable tools, and configure optimized solutions with tangible value propositions.
• Review and comment on Customer’s Technical Specifications, prepare Buyout RFQs ensuring regional SCM coordinator participation, engage and negotiate with sub-suppliers for mutual client solutions, and verify vendor quotations.
• Coordinate cost analysis, pricing, payment achievements, and sub-supplier payment terms alignment; perform cash flow analysis on each quoted opportunity.
• Collaborate with Regional Coordination Group, operations, finance, credit, and field service teams to identify risks, develop mitigation actions, and prepare risk assessment forms (technical, execution, commercial).
• Manage Proposal Bill of Materials, system drawings, project schedule, Salesforce updates, and support sales managers in technical and commercial strategy development and bid strategy discussions.
• Ensure proposals meet Siemens’ standards for quality, completeness, and timeliness; review pricing compliance; participate in client meetings, project kickoff meetings, and support order capture and internal approvals adhering to ethical business standards.

What You Bring

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience with substation electrical equipment systems, especially transmission products, and validated bid leadership skills.
• Preferred experience and knowledge of High Voltage transmission industry in Malaysia and Asia Pacific.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and selected engineering software; excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work well in teams; proficiency in English, bilingual or international experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training, presentations, bid clarifications, and project kick-off meetings; global awareness required.
