A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

We are seeking an experienced senior accountant with a strong focus on automation and digital tools to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, combined with a passion for using technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency. This individual with support the team financial reporting and accounting close topics!

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Financial Statement preparation: Assist in the preparation month and quarterly financial documents and notes to the annual statutory financial documents in North America, applying automated tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Automation Implementation: Own the implementation and maintenance of automated accounting systems and digital tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting, governance, and close processes.
  • Investment book value and goodwill: Assist with the annual long-range plan consolidation and reporting using digital solutions (such as Alteryx and Power BI). Assist in the annual valuation of applicable cash generating units while working with internal business partners and an external valuation firm.
  • External Audit Liaison: Coordinate with external auditors as required for quarterly and annual reporting, providing SAP reports and supporting documentation efficiently through digital platforms.
  • Integration: Assist the team in integrating the wind power business area with the legacy gas & power business areas.
  • Central Project Support: Provide support for central and other accounting projects requiring local knowledge and proximity, applying digital tools to facilitate collaboration and communication.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • College diploma/University degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related accounting experience. Big 4 and public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and dynamic work environment.
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong ability to own projects and processes independently
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
