A Snapshot of Your Day

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for leading all repair and machining activities within the Siemens Energy service workshop. This role requires strong technical expertise in rotating equipment repairs (steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors), hands-on machining experience, and the ability to manage a team of technicians while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The supervisor will also oversee workshop equipment maintenance and coordinate with suppliers for preventive and corrective actions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Leadership & Team Management. Supervise and guide repair technicians and machinists in executing repair and machining tasks. Plan and allocate jobs based on priorities, resources, and deadlines. Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy standards, safety protocols, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce a strong EHS culture. Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications for repair jobs. Provide hands-on support for complex machining and repair operations.
  • Ensure accurate use of precision measuring tools for dimensional checks and tolerances. Validate inspection reports and ensure proper documentation of repair activities. Monitor the condition of workshop machines (horizontal lathes, boring machines, milling machines, balancing machines).
  • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance and calibration of workshop equipment. Communicate with equipment suppliers for spare parts, service agreements, and troubleshooting. Maintain records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with OEM recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow optimization and implement best practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives for machining and repair processes. Contribute to training programs for technicians to enhance technical skills.
  • Prepare job progress reports, resource utilization summaries, and workshop KPIs. Ensure proper documentation of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in MS Office and Siemens Energy systems. Participate in audits and ensure readiness for compliance checks.

What You Bring 

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 15+ years of experience in rotating equipment repairs and machining operations. Proven leadership experience in a workshop environment. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and supplier coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of steam turbines, gas turbines, and compressor designs.
  • Proficiency in engineering drawings, dimensional inspection, and repair techniques. Skilled in MS Office and workshop documentation systems. Exposure to CAD software (2D/3D) is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with excellent communication and coordination skills. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Team productivity and skill development.
  • Commitment to safety and quality excellence. Quality metrics (first-pass repair success rate).
