Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled and expert Repair Center Manager to lead our Compression repair facility in India. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of repair processes for rotating equipment, including centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and dry gas seals. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing or production facilities. In addition to this role of the repair center manager, the successful candidate will also be heavily involved in the development of the repair business in the Asia Pacific region. The Repair Center Manager will collaborate closely with existing Quality and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) teams and collaborate closely with client managers to ensure flawless operations and customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of skilled technicians and engineers.
- Develop a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
2. Repair Process Management:
- Be responsible for the repair processes for rotating equipment, ensuring consistency to industry standards and best practices.
- Implement and maintain efficient workflows to optimize repair turnaround times.
- Ensure all repairs meet Siemens Energy quality standards and customer expectations.
3. Operational Excellence:
- Handle day-to-day operations of the repair center, including resource allocation, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Supervise key performance indicators (critical metrics) to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivity.
4. Collaboration with Quality and EHS Teams:
- Work closely with Quality and EHS teams to ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a safe working environment and lead by example in adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments in collaboration with EHS teams.
5. Client Liaison:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client managers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Conduct regular client feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement.
6. Business Development Support:
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify and pursue new repair opportunities in the Asia Pacific region.
- Provide technical expertise and support in customer meetings and presentations.
- Assist in the development of proposals and quotations for repair services.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience of a minimum 10 years in a manufacturing or production facility, with a focus on rotating equipment repair.
- Proven experience in managing and leading teams.
- In-depth knowledge of repair processes for centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and dry gas seals.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to support business development activities in the Asia Pacific region.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Experience in the energy sector, particularly with Siemens Energy products and services.
- Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
