A Snapshot of Your Day

The days in the life of an LTP Proposal Engineer are varied and dynamic. One day you may be aligning the technical scope and commercial assumptions for a long-term service agreement for a customer in Malaysia, while the next you are building a budgetary proposal for an opportunity in Japan. On another day, you may be coordinating with engineering, field service, procurement, and regional sales teams to develop a competitive and executable offer for a customer in Indonesia. Throughout the proposal phase, you translate customer requirements into clear technical solutions, define scope boundaries, calculate prices, support risk reviews, and ensure high-quality proposal documentation. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to shape winning proposals that support our customers and grow our business.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• In this role, you will be responsible for developing technically robust and commercially competitive proposals for long-term service agreements covering Industrial Steam Turbines, corresponding Gearboxes, and Generators for industrial customers worldwide.
• You will own the proposal development process from receipt of inquiry through clarification, scope definition, costing support, internal approvals in close collaboration with LTP Sales Managers, engineering, procurement, and commercial teams.
• For each opportunity, you will define the required technical scope of work, prepare proposal documentation, evaluate customer specifications, and ensure that the proposed solution is technically sound, executable, and aligned with customer expectations.
• You will coordinate cross-functional inputs, drive technical clarifications, support risk and opportunity assessments, and help ensure proposal quality, consistency, and on-time delivery across a global opportunity pipeline.
• You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal tools, costing approaches, standard offer templates, and portfolio development to strengthen our competitiveness and proposal efficiency.

What You Bring

• You have a university degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable technical qualification.
• Fluent written and spoken English, strong communication skills. Additional languages are a plus
• You are a fast learner with strong Excel skills (including advanced functions/programming) and leverage tools like Copilot and ChatGPT to continuously improve your efficiency.
• You have relevant experience in proposal, application engineering, technical sales support, or service engineering for industrial steam turbines, generators, or related rotating equipment. Knowledge of long-term service agreements, water-steam cycle systems, plant auxiliaries, or industrial customer processes is an advantage.
• You are skilled in translating customer requirements into clear, competitive, and technically feasible proposals. You bring strong capabilities in scope definition, technical documentation, cross-functional coordination, and proposal preparation for complex service solutions.
• You are comfortable working across interfaces with sales, engineering, procurement, commercial, and project management teams, and you can manage multiple proposal activities in parallel with a structured and proactive approach. Familiarity with costing, risk review processes, and internal approval workflows is a plus.
