A Snapshot of Your Day
Every day will be unique due to the variety of projects and their stages in the project life cycle. A typical day will include checking progress in Engineering/Design, ensuring demand for components is released on time, obtaining status updates on open requisitions and purchase orders, reviewing actual costs versus budget, updating schedules, attending project review meetings, and coordinating deliveries. One of the most critical daily activities is client communication. Proactive communication of schedule changes and promptly responding to questions and concerns is one of the most important aspects of this position.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Individually manage all aspects of multiple Modernization & Upgrade projects and Inspection/Repair projects simultaneously through project execution and warranty phases.
- Interact with internal partners, including multiple Siemens Energy facilities, third-party suppliers, and external customers, to ensure assigned projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Report to senior management on the status of assigned projects.
- Identify risks and manage/mitigate their impact on overall project success.
- Manage revenue and EBIT targets for the business through successful and timely completion of projects.
- Participate in or lead improvement initiatives tied to Risk Management, On-Time Delivery (OTD), Cost, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, or other business-critical needs.
- Domestic and international travel may be required for internal and/or customer-facing meetings during the project execution phase. Visits to sites may also be necessary for larger, complex projects.
What You Bring
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in an Engineering, Business, or Project Management discipline. PMI or equivalent Siemens PM certification is beneficial.
- A proven track record with a minimum of 5+ years of recent experience working in a Project Management/Project Lead role. Self-driven, motivated, and possessing a strong work ethic.Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
- Customer-focused, with a collaborative mindset and a proven ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, frequently under internal and/or external time constraints.
- Strong written, verbal, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience communicating effectively both internally with peers/management and externally with customers.
- Detail-oriented individual with strong proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with steam turbine design fundamentals, subcomponents, assembly, and repair methods. A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, BOM (Bill of Materials) structures, and drawings is a plus. Previous experience with other types of rotating turbomachinery or roles in Marketing & Sales and/or Field Service is considered a plus.
- Travel domestic and international about 25%
