A Snapshot of Your Day

As a technical specialist for OT Network and OT/IT Security, you will be at the forefront of the energy transition. You are part of a highly motivated team of OT Security and Control systems engineers, designing communication networks and OT-Security concepts for our Flexible AC Transmission systems (FACTS) and High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission systems, ensuring seamless communication between the various control and protection devices. In order to better protect our OT and IT systems, you will explore all the possibilities of how to effectively deceive, circumvent, and weaken them. For this, you will ask questions for which there are still no answers and search for gaps where hardly anyone suspects them. You also clarify the communication interfaces to subsystems and customer networks, drive and supervise implementation of IT Security standards in our projects.

How You Can Make a Difference

  • Design of solution-oriented industrial cybersecurity for customer projects in the field of control technology for energy transmission systems
  • Bringing in your knowledge of OT/IT security to protect critical infrastructure
  • Support in the design, implementation, testing, and system integration of customer-oriented solutions to ensure OT/IT security
  • In addition to analyzing customer requirements, developing and implementing the corresponding OT/IT security solutions
  • Tracking technical developments and technological trends and constantly expanding your know-how in the field of OT/IT security
  • Conducting threat and risk analyses and define corresponding countermeasures
  • Create technical specifications and documents for our OT/IT network and security concepts based on customer requirements and international standards.
  • Experience in configuring and commissioning communication components and virtual environments.
  • Providing evidence of the implementation of holistic IT security requirements in the project (Apply hardening measures, conduct penetration testing and threat/risk assessment).
  • Support commissioning and after sales teams in trouble shooting, customer clarifications and warranty activities.

What You Bring

  • University degree in network / communication technology, computer science/ Automation technology or electrical engineering, or similar with a focus on IT security.
  • 3 or more years of operational security experience in the field of OT/IT networks or security for control systems or large automation systems. *Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP required; Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the field of cybersecurity preferred (e.g. IEC 62443, NERC CIP, BDEW Whitepaper, ISO27001).
  • Basic knowledge in the field of energy infrastructure.
  • Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting relevant Switches, Routers Firewalls and other network devices from manufacturers like Cisco, Ruggedcom, Checkpoint, Fortinet, etc.
  • Theoretical know-how of TCP/IP, routing, switching, network separation, zone concepts, redundancy mechanisms, encryption concepts, system hardening, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for business, as needed.
