Sobre el papel
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Manufacturing engineer you will be interacting with operators, engineers, supervisors, and managers to keep production moving while ensuring products meet Siemens Energy Standards. Partner with operators to answer questions and address any issues the arise during building and/or servicing of Gas Turbine Rotors. Reviewing specifications and issues with design engineering to resolve questions and product deviations. Working with scheduler to maintain production on time delivery by ensuring routers are ready and complete when needed. Make presentations and report to managers on project. Your duties may change from day to day as there are different issues and opportunities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Support production activities by getting answers to process questions and working through established processes to resolve product non-conformance issues
- Department is a 24/7 shop, and weekend support as needed to meet customer deadlines
- Develop, write, test (simulates), accurate and optimize CNC programs of numeric controlled tooling machinery, primarily HBMs by using CAD/CAM technology and methodology. This will be done in collaboration with offsite programmers. Check completed programs by running simulations or tests on Vericut
- Develop, determine, and describe the setups of the tooling machines (how to position and fix the workpiece and the tool in relation to the machine axes)
- Provide up-to-date CNC programs, posted code (manuscript), set-up documentation, and tooling information (tool list, tool offset values, etc.) for CNC machined operations
- Lead a Manufacturing team for successful execution of a product through the shop (both preparedness and in process support of shop floor execution)
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or associates degree with direct experience is required
- 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment involving heavy CNC machining/programming. 10 or more years of Manufacturing Experience may be substituted for degree
- Manufacturing experience in a machine shop environment while possessing intimate solid understanding of manual machine methods (tool selection, speeds, feeds, HP)
- Understanding the impact of programmed tool path, therefore proven experience machining parts from start to finish using manual turning and milling operations is highly desirable
- Specific knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM technology and methodology specifically NX.
- Experience working closely with shop floor personnel to solve issues (tooling, machines, etc.) as they arise
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
