This request is for a replacement Managing Director for the Siemens Energy Mexico country organization with extended responsibility of Colombia and Caribbean countries to ensure business continuity. This executive role is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and performance of the Mexican subsidiary, reporting directly to the Latin America regional hub. To fulfill this mandate, the role is structured around four core areas: Strategic Leadership & Business Development, Operational & Financial Management, Organizational Leadership & Governance, and Stakeholder & External Relations. This framework ensures comprehensive oversight of all country-level activities, from long-term market growth to daily operational excellence and compliance. Given the focus on leading a national entity within a global corporation, the ideal candidate will possess extensive senior management experience with a strong background in strategic planning within the energy sector, and a deep understanding of the Mexican, Colombia and Caribbean markets. Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential for effective leadership and communication.

 

Responsibilities & Tasks


Strategic Leadership & Business Development


1. Develop and execute the long-term strategic plan for the Mexico, Colombia and the Caribbean countries, ensuring alignment with regional (Latin America) and global business objectives.
2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, market growth initiatives, structure optimization and diversification strategies to enhance market share and profitability.
3. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions and mitigate potential risks. 

Operational & Financial Management

1. Oversee all in-country operations to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance with corporate policies and legal standards.
2. Direct the effective allocation of resources, including capital, assets, and personnel, to maximize operational performance and achieve business goals.
3. Report on company performance, key metrics, and strategic progress to regional and global executive leadership.

Organizational Leadership & Governance

1. Champion and enforce corporate governance, ethics, and compliance frameworks throughout the entire country organization.
2. Drive talent management and succession planning initiatives to build a robust and sustainable leadership pipeline.
3. Promote an inclusive and engaging work environment that aligns with company values and attracts top talent.
4. Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration.

Stakeholder & External Relations

1. Act as the main representative for Siemens Energy in Mexico, Colombia and the Caribbean countries, engaging with key external stakeholders including major customers, government bodies, and industry associations.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key political, public, and business partners to support strategic objectives and enhance the company's reputation.
3. Represent the organization to the financial community and the general public, effectively communicating the company's vision and performance.

Education & Experience

1. Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred.
2. Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in progressive leadership roles within a multinational corporation, including significant experience as a General Manager or Country Manager.
3. Deep industry knowledge in the energy, industrial, or a related technology-driven sector.
4. Fluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory.
