A Snapshot of Your Day                 

The MGT Site Electrical Installation Engineer will oversee the electrical field-installation of Medium Gas Turbines (MGT 20-62mw) and the driven equipment. The position requires 80%+ travel to customer construction sites primarily in North America. The daily activities include leading and directing subcontractors to perform the necessary tasks to install electrical equipment. You will attend site meetings with customers/subcontractors to coordinate these tasks.    

The successful candidate will coordinate and manage the timing of material received on site as necessary and will be expected to communicate status and lessons-learned to the back-office engineering and management on a consistent basis. The selected candidate will have an electrical background and be able to read drawings and schematics necessary for the installation of the equipment. Growth into the area of field commissioning systems is possible over time! 

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Supervision of electrical resources for the installation of the gas turbine(s), generator(s), and related equipment.  
  • Participation in and lead a safe work environment.        
  • Complete and submit detailed reports summarizing job activity and complete quality documentation.   
  • Work directly with customer and labor resources to ensure the correct implementation of Siemens Energy product.  
  • Review complex task plans, schedules, drawings, and installation schematics and provide continual   mentorship throughout task duration.
  • Lead and direct subcontractors to perform specific maintenance related tasks and serve as the primary Siemens Energy jobsite contact.

What You Bring       

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering OR HS Diploma/GED plus equivalent experience in the electrical industry (such as an electrician, industrial electrician, or in similar technical roles, preferred.)
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and practical working methods is required, along with a strong commitment to safety and the work environment.                
  • 3+ years of experience with power plant or equivalent environment.               
  • Self-driven and resourceful, able to achieve goals independently in addition to working well in groups.            
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work for yourself and others, under strict timelines and being flexible to changing needs; Prior experience with Siemens Energy’s customers, equipment, and processes is a plus.
  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills; Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and ability to learn others as needed)         

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
