- Be the trusted advisor and manage legal matters and risks in relation to general commercial and contract law in international business (including general legal aspects concerning intellectual property, product liability, procurement, administrative and general corporate law, torts and claims)
- Proactively assist and contribute to mastering business challenges by entrepreneurial thinking (balancing governance and business needs)
- Maintain and further improve best in class Legal department. Engage and manage cost consciously outside counsel when needed at times
- Advance process optimization and lean principles to gain efficiencies
- Foster an organizational culture of ownership, empowerment, transparency, speak up and inclusion and diversity
- Develop and provide training and educate key stakeholders
- Several years of professional experience in the legal department of an internationally operating company or a law firm, preferably in relation to international infrastructure/energy projects and you hold a law degree
- Relevant professional experience with a proven track record of successfully managing legal risks in complex transactions
- Deep knowledge of contract law and international contract practice and the ability to lead personally strategic contracts/negotiations.
- Customer orientated approach, passion to enable business transactions pragmatically and to inspire change combined with the ability to handle multiple demands at the same time
- Good communications skills coupled with intercultural sensitivity and competence
- Excellent language skills in English as well as German, further languages would be an asset
