A Snapshot of Your Day

 

As a Lead Bid Manager / Baseline Manager for O&G GTC Pipeline / Midstream, you lead the proposal for Siemens Energy O&G customer base for gas turbine driven compression train for pipeline and midstream market segment. In addition to leading proposal process, you will also be defining standard offerings / baseline, driving cost reductions and lead time optimization, and collaborating with the regional sales team to meet market specific requirements ensuring our offerings are competitive, cost effective with acceptable lead time and aligned to customer needs.

You will work in an international environment with employees at our factories, engineering offices and regional bid management and sales team located all over the world. 

You will have colleagues both within Gas Services and Compression business. The job includes domestic and international travel of approximately 10% to 20%. The work offers a technical and commercial breadth that only few others can offer and is an excellent gateway for future career paths in project management or sales.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Act as an expert and provide guidance to the rest of the global team on gas turbine driven compression trains for pipeline and midstream market segment.
  • Collaborate with Sales to develop opportunities early, select optimal compressors and gas turbines, and position Siemens Energy solutions effectively.
  • Understand client applications, processes, and competitive offerings to propose optimized solutions with tangible value propositions.
  • Prepare techno-commercial budget bids for complete gas turbine driven compressor train for pipeline and midstream applications.
  • Lead, supervise and guide the overall bid with support from Bid Management Team within our business for gas turbine driver skid and from our compression colleagues for the driven skid in detailed budget and firm bidding.
  • Coordinate cost analysis and cost-out for competitive bid submissions.
  • Ensure proposals meet Siemens Energy standards for quality, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Deliver technical presentations and actively participate in customer clarifications (technical & commercial).
  • Define and maintain standard offerings and baselines for pipeline/midstream by product line, including detailed cost models and schedules.
  • Conduct gap analysis between standard offerings and customer specifications; develop strategies to close gaps.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives across standard packages by collaborating with engineering, procurement, and operations team and monitor and report the effectiveness of the cost reduction initiatives.
  • Conduct benchmarking against competition’s offering and develop tailored solutions to meet market-specific requirements, including localization needs, emission standards and service offerings.
  • Capture lessons learned from executed projects, maintain a database, and share best practices to improve future bids.
  • Analyze the impact from executed projects with regards to cost / price based on standard specifications.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity in all business dealings.

What You Bring 

 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering Degree from an accredited higher education institution or a related field and eager to work with both commercial and technical solutions.
  • Significant experience (>12 years) in application engineering, sales, detail engineering and/or project management for turbomachinery rotating equipment (i.e. single shaft centrifugal compressor and/or gas turbine) in oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost analysis, specification management, and project bidding.
  • Deep understanding of compressors & gas turbine driven compressor applications would be an added advantage.
  • You have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • You have knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to pipeline / midstream. Knowledge of current emissions regulations is a plus.
  • English in speech and writing is a prerequisite, if you also have knowledge of other languages (i.e. Spanish) it will be a plus.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
