A Snapshot of Your Day 

As the Key Account Manager (KAM) – Renewables Market is responsible for developing and expanding Siemens Energy Distribution Transformers (SEDT) business withing the renewable energy sector across United States and Canada.

This role is focused on strategic market development, customer acquisition, and preferred supplier positioning within solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and emerging clean energy applications.

The KAM will engage with renewable developers, IPPs, EPCs, integrators, and strategic channel partners to position SEDT as a long-term partner for distribution transformer solutions. The role requires strong technical-commercial expertise, structured pipeline development, and close collaboration with factories, proposal teams, and regional sales managers to drive profitable growth.

This is a growth-oriented role with direct impact on order intake, market share, and long-term strategic positioning in the renewables segment.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive renewable market growth strategy for Distribution Transformers, targeting key developers, IPPs, EPCs, and integrators while securing early-stage specification influence and preferred vendor positioning
  • Own order intake, revenue, and margin performance within the renewable segment, ensuring disciplined pipeline management and accurate forecasting
  • Build and strengthen executive-level and cross-functional relationships (engineering, procurement, project management) to drive long-term strategic account growth
  • Lead commercial positioning, pricing alignment with factories, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure competitive and profitable project execution
  • Align production capacity and delivery schedules with customer project timelines while proactively resolving commercial, supply chain, quality, or execution challenges
  • Provide structured account reviews, market intelligence, and competitive insights to senior leadership to support data-driven strategic decisions

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales, business development, or strategic account management
  • Proven experience in renewable energy markets strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with distribution transformers and/or electrical distribution equipment strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of project lifecycles, EPC contracting structures, and developer-led sales models
  • Demonstrated success in market development, specification influence, and securing preferred vendor status
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with disciplined, structured account planning capabilities
  • Proven track record managing large, complex customer accounts
  • Self-directed professional with the ability to operate independently and influence cross-functionally without direct authority
