A Snapshot of Your Day 

As the Funding Manager within Portfolio & Business Strategy at Siemens Energy’s Transformation of Industry (TI) business area, you will work in the Innovation team and focus on identifying and securing external funding opportunities that support Siemens Energy’s Transformation of Industry research, development and innovation projects. You’ll collaborate across teams to optimize funding strategies and maximize funding for our projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Identification and evaluation of external funding opportunities from public and private sources, including government grants at national and sub-national levels, institutional programs, and partnerships
  • Definition and optimization of funding strategies in collaboration with TI strategy, innovation teams, corporate funding, and government affairs teams
  • Coordination and preparation of funding proposals, ensuring collaboration from all stakeholders and compliance with application and regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring and securing achievement of TI funding targets in collaboration with project owners in the business
  • End-to-end management of funding initiatives involving multiple businesses, from application to funding decision and reporting
  • Establishment and maintenance of relationships with funding bodies, financial institutions, specialized consultancies, and external stakeholders to position Siemens Energy as a trusted innovation partner
  • Analysis of innovation funding trends and policies to derive actionable insights and recommendations for leadership
  • Collaboration with innovation, finance, strategy, and operations teams to integrate funding into broader portfolio and project planning
What You Bring
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in innovation project management, grant management, financial planning, or related fields, preferably within the energy or industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of funding landscapes, particularly in the EU and US, including public and private support mechanisms for energy innovation and decarbonization
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English
  • Proven track record in managing complex funding applications to successful funding decisions, including tracking deliverables, reporting, and maintaining compliance with funding requirements
  • Strategic and detail-oriented mindset with a strong understanding of financial frameworks and their application in large-scale industrial projects
  • Proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to work across diverse teams and geographies
  • Availability for travel 25-30% of the time
