A Snapshot of Your Day

As a commissioning engineer for generator control systems, you start the day by gaining an overview of current projects and customer inquiries and coordinating with the team.
In line with the zero harm concept, you then start with a safety briefing, a risk assessment and a last-minute risk analysis of the planned activities and then get to work. For example, you start with signal checks of all binary and analog signals required for the control system. If necessary, you will correct errors together with our customers or subcontractors. You will check and adjust the settings and parameters of all devices and equipment required for the control system. You may have to adapt the programming of the control systems used in our control cabinets to the conditions on site and reprogram them. Before hot commissioning can begin with the machine running, you check all safety devices in advance using measurement technology, test all trigger circuits and document the results. As soon as the machine is up to speed, carry out the primary tests.
Outside of customer assignments, you will support and advise our internal and external customers and carry out remote troubleshooting and fault analyses.
