A Snapshot of Your Day

In this dynamic role, you will be the Head of US Gas Turbine Repair team within Service Engineering, focused specifically on turbine components. This position leads a team that will provide cost-effective blade, vane and ring segment repair developments and qualifications. The team will provide continuous Siemens Energy and external vendor shop support, including quick responses to Quality Notifications (QN).

The Head of Service Engineering Repair position will be responsible for driving cost reduction in the refurbishment process by developing new repair technology. This role manages a team which develops new repair technologies for first time application into our fleet of engines while also improving the repair processes of existing parts. The role plays a pivotal part in connecting the local shop with the global repair network while fostering a unified service Engineering repair team.

One goal of the team is to drive life cycle cost improvements through increased repair yields, cost reductions and upgrades to parts during repair to increase part life and reliability. Furthermore, the Repair Head handles all communication with our internal partners and customers. This position joins a global management team and will have the opportunity to gain insights beyond immediate functions. The role collaborates with all regions to keep the business running, which presents a great opportunity for networking and learning about the different business requirements globally!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead a service engineering repair team focused on refurbishment of Large Gas Turbine Blades, Vanes and Ring Segments.
  • Be responsible for the US repair development and qualification.
  • Provide technical specifications and drive Quality Management for gas turbine blades, vanes and ring segments in repair business including handling of quality notifications (QN).
  • Coordinate the repair project portfolio with a strong focus on customer needs.
  • Support manufacturing and repair technology, e.g., additive manufacturing technology.
  • Provide shop support, QN responses. Ownership of PPQ (product and process qualification) database.
  • Implement efficiency enhancements through advanced data and digital technologies.
  • Participate and play a pivotal role in establishing the repair strategy & roadmap of turbine components.
  • Responsible for employee development and maintenance of critical skills tied to gas turbine components repair.
  • Cultivate a global service mentality that drives a culture of improvement and teamwork.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's (or advanced degree) in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 10+ years professional experience in the industry.
  • Proven proficiency in gas turbine blade and vane design, manufacturing, or repair.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to Siemens Energy's core behaviors with strong leadership essentials, that include a focus on the customer, decisively moving forward, being open and inclusive, and building strong partnerships.
  • High motivation that questions status quo and takes initiative!
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, English) for collaboration with a distributed team around the globe.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, engaging with diverse teams and cultures.
  • Leadership experience in engineering, manufacturing or quality management preferred.
