A Snapshot of Your Day

This position is responsible for directing the technical sales and proposal management functions within the Siemens Energy Grid Technologies Service business unit, focusing on driving profitable growth and market expansion.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 40% Technical Offer & Bid Management
    • Oversee the entire offer management process, from initial customer inquiry and application engineering to final proposal submission and contract negotiation.
    • Ensure the quality, competitiveness, and accuracy of all technical and commercial proposals developed by the team.
    • Provide expert guidance on complex technical specifications, pricing considerations, and contract requirements for high-value bids.
    • Interface with engineering, project management, and legal teams to align on technical solutions and mitigate risks in proposals.
  • 30% Strategic Sales & Market Leadership
    • Develop and execute the short to mid-term (1-3 years) sales strategy for the Grid Technologies Service portfolio across the Asia Pacific region.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities and ensure market penetration.
    • Set and monitor regional sales targets, forecasts, and budgets, reporting on performance to senior leadership.
    • Drive the go-to-market strategy for new service products and solutions within the region.
  • 20% Team Leadership & People Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a department of sales, application, and proposal management professionals across multiple countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
    • Manage team resources, set performance objectives, and conduct regular performance reviews to foster a high-performance culture.
    • Implement sales training programs to enhance the team's technical knowledge and selling capabilities.
  • 10% Customer & Stakeholder Management
    • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders at an executive level.
    • Act as the primary technical and commercial escalation point for critical customer issues and negotiations.
    • Represent Siemens Energy at industry events and customer briefings to promote the service portfolio.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is required. A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is highly advantageous.
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in technical sales, bid management, or application engineering within the energy, power generation, or grid technology industry.
  • Proven track record of leadership, with significant experience (typically 5+ years) managing and developing sales or proposal teams across multiple countries in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and senior-level customer negotiations.
  • Strategic & Business Management - Business Acumen, Strategic Thinking, Go-to-Market Strategy, Forecasting, Market Intelligence etc
  • Technical Sales & Execution - Sales Engineering, Solution Selling, Negotiation, etc
  • Leadership & Interpersonal skills
