Job Summary

This role leads our Back Office team managing our Field Service personnel that supports Siemens Energy rotating equipment in South Korea and the wider AP region. You will be responsible for all Planning activities for outages performed in Korea, with the support of other Planners and our Back Office team. This role requires close communication with our global organization, project management team, sub-contractors and our customers to ensure our outages are staffed with the required resources to achieve success.

Your profile

  • A graduate degree or equivalent experience related to Engineering, or another Technical Field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years professional experience in a technical environment.
  • Experience with leadership of a team either in an Outage Execution environment, Project Management or as a Line Manager.
  • Experience with execution of project management activities associated with construction and commissioning or experience with maintenance operations. Mechanical and/or Electrical qualification and experience with rotating equipment is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Project or other Project Management software.
  • Must have fluency in English and capable to communicate with our Global Operations community.
  • Global mentality. Strong intercultural sensitivity and ability to work with teams and customers around the globe.
  • Ability to work independently in a multicultural environment and demonstrate ownership of tasks.
  • Positive can-do attitude and ability to work in an environment with competing demands which requires prioritization of activities.
  • Legally permitted to work and resident in South Korea.
  • Fluent in Korean.
  • Candidate must have valid driver’s license and vehicle to be able to travel to our customer sites.
  • This position is office based with travel to customers sites for meetings, outage coordination activities, etc.

Your responsibilities

  • As the Head of our Resource Management and Planning Team you will have management responsibilities for our Back Office Team and our Tool Facility organization. This incorporates not only the needs for Operations, but also the long-term development of the personnel reporting to this position.
  • As the Lead for the Planning organization, you will prepare outage planning packages with guidance from Service Engineering, Project Management our customer contracts, with the support of FS Planners that arrange all outage activities in a logical sequence ensuring appropriate resources to meet the outage constraints, using resources from our domestic organization, our sub-contractors and the SE global organization in coordination with the Asia Pacific Region.
  • The FS Planning role is involved will all activities in review of contract scope and other user documentation, estimating, quoting, planning and scheduling Field Service activities and resources in relation to outages on Rotating Equipment that we service. This can include Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and Generator equipment.
  • The Head of Resource Management & Planning shall attend customer meetings to discuss and present outage scope of work, including proposals associated with optional scope. This shall include identification of opportunities with our Sales and Project Management team to extend SE’s service offerings to our customers.
  • The Head of Resource Management & Planning will work with our sub-contractor supply base to plan and secure resources as needed to complete planned outage activities. This may include identification of new sub-contractors and establishment of supplier agreements with the support of Supply Chain.
  • Resource management shall work closely with our Region and global organization to support both Inbound to Korea and Outbound dispatch of FS personnel to support outages in the region and globally.
  • This is primarily an Office based position split between our main office in Seoul, our facilities in Hwaseong, and with travel to customer sites in Korea for meetings.
