A Snapshot of Your Day
As Head of Quality for Grid Technologies Substations APCN, you will lead and oversee the Quality function across multiple countries and projects, providing strategic direction and governance to Country Quality Managers and Project Quality Managers.
You will ensure consistent implementation of global quality standards, drive performance transparency, and act as the primary interface between APCN operations and HQ. Your role is to embed a strong culture of quality excellence, prevention, and continuous improvement across all Grid Technologies activities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Regional Quality Leadership & Governance
- Provide functional leadership and oversight to Country Quality Managers and Project Quality Managers across APCN.
- Ensure consistent implementation of Siemens Energy Quality frameworks, standards, and processes across all countries and projects.
- Act as the primary reporting line to HQ and Regional Management on quality performance, risks, and improvement strategies.
- Quality Management System & Compliance
- Govern and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and applicable industry standards.
- Define and drive the regional audit strategy, ensuring readiness and compliance across all execution units.
- Embed risk-based thinking into all quality processes and decision-making.
- Project Quality Oversight
- Establish and govern project quality frameworks from bidding through execution and project close-out.
- Guide and challenge Project Quality Managers to ensure robust quality planning, inspections, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer-specific quality requirements across all projects.
- Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee the regional Non-Conformance (NCC) lifecycle, ensuring effective root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and closure discipline.
- Drive cross-country learning through lessons learned, RCA trends, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
- Lead strategic continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost of non-quality and improve project performance.
- Quality Performance & Executive Reporting
- Define and monitor regional quality KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics across all countries.
- Deliver consolidated executive-level reporting to HQ and senior management, providing insights on risks, trends, and improvement actions.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and audit-ready documentation across the region.
- Supplier Quality & Stakeholder Engagement
- Oversee supplier quality performance, including qualification, audits, and continuous evaluation.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Project Management teams to embed quality into supplier and project strategies.
- Act as a key interface for customers, certifying bodies, and internal stakeholders on quality-related matters.
- Digitalization & Process Excellence
- Drive harmonization and standardization of quality processes across countries and execution units.
- Promote the use of digital tools for non-conformance management, reporting, and data analytics.
- Lead process optimization initiatives using Lean and data-driven methodologies.
- Leadership & Capability Building
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional quality organization.
- Strengthen capability of Country and Project Quality teams through coaching and governance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, prevention, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- Leadership & Regional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 15+ years of experience in Quality Management within power or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven experience leading regional or multi-country quality organizations with matrix structures.
- Quality & IMS Expertise
- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor with strong expertise in Integrated Management Systems governance.
- Deep knowledge of audit methodologies, compliance frameworks, and quality risk management.
- Technical & Project Knowledge
- Strong expertise in substation and grid technologies (AIS, GIS, transformers, HV systems).
- Proven track record in managing quality across large-scale EPC projects.
- Continuous Improvement & Analytics
- Expertise in RCA methodologies (8D, FMEA, 5-Why), CAPA, and KPI-driven management.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable improvements in quality performance and cost optimization.
- Stakeholder & Communication Skills
- Strong influencing and communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and global teams.
- Experience in executive-level reporting and strategic decision-making support.
- Digital & Process Excellence
- Proficiency in digital quality tools, reporting platforms, and data analytics.
